This article explains to a Connect ID user (in most cases: Member Association) what they should do in different edge cases related to clubs.
Club has been disaffiliated
If club no longer exists, its status in the Connect ID Service should be changed from "Active" to "Inactive". This can be done via an UpdateOrganisation(...) method.
Club has been merged with another club
If there was a legal merge of one club into another, an SDK user should call a MergeOrganisations(...) method.
Club has been registered by mistake
In such a case a club should be deleted. Note that an SDK user is not allowed to delete an organisation. Please inform the Connect ID Team by sending an email to support.id@fifa.org. Please write explicitly that a club should be removed as it was registered by mistake and not as a duplicate.
Club has been registered as a duplicate of another club
In such a case a club should be deleted as well. In some NRS-es such an operational will be a merge but to differentiate from a legal merge, we should call it a technical merge.
Note that an SDK user is not allowed to delete an organisation. Please inform the Connect ID Team by sending an email to support.id@fifa.org. Please write explicitly that a club should be removed as a duplicate and let us know what the proper club's FIFA_ID is. This information will be used by the TMS team (they may want to do the technical merge of the clubs in TMS).
