This portal is your central resource for all information related to the FIFA Connect ID Service and the FIFA Data eXchange Platform (DXP) - two key components of the FIFA Connect Programme.

Before diving into details about how the information is organised in this portal, let’s take a brief look at the global football ecosystem. This will help you understand which systems are part of it and how they interact with each other.

FIFA Connect ID Service

The FIFA Connect ID Service is the backbone of the FIFA Connect Programme. It generates unique identifiers, supports football-related processes such as deduplication, and facilitates communication between integrated systems (e.g. National Registration Systems and TMS).

It consists of several modules:

  • Connect ID Directory - the central system responsible for generating unique identifiers (FIFA_IDs) for football-related entities (persons, organisations, and facilities). It allows integrated National Registration Systems (NRS-es) to request new identifiers and supports the deduplication process. NRS-es synchronise most of their local operations with this central system. For example, if a Member Association changes a player’s date of birth in its local NRS, this change is automatically pushed to the Connect ID Directory.
  • Connect ID Service Bus - enables connected systems to exchange information with each other. It is used in various scenarios, such as:
    • During the deduplication process, when personal data of a player is transferred from one MA to another.
    • During the Electronic Player Passport (EPP) process, when a player’s data is transferred from an MA to the Transfer Matching System (TMS).

The Service Bus is easily extendable and can also be used by connected systems to exchange custom messages for            other purposes.

  • Connect ID Admin Console - a web application that allows users of integrated systems to view all stored data, review synchronisation messages, and perform basic troubleshooting.

Data eXchange Platform (DXP)

A tool that assists Member Associations in identifying and resolving duplicate cases where a player might have multiple FIFA_IDs. DXP helps maintain data quality and ensure the accuracy of player identity records across systems.

FIFA Connect Platform (FCP)

A national registration system built by FIFA and offered free of charge to all Member Associations. FCP is integrated with the FIFA Connect ID Service by default.

FIFA Competition Management System (FCMS)

A competition management system developed by FIFA, also offered free of charge to all Member Associations.

Transfer Matching System (TMS)

The FIFA system that facilitates transfer-related processes for all international transfers.

Domestic Transfer Matching System (DTMS)

A platform designed for domestic transfer operations within a single Member Association. It follows similar principles as TMS but is adapted for internal use at the national level.
